Welcome to Capital Area Ground Water
Conservation Commission’s website.
The Commission was established in 1974 by Act 678 of the
Louisiana Legislature.
The Commission is a ground-water management district composed of
five parishes in the Greater Baton Rouge area.
These are the parishes of East and West Baton Rouge, East and
West Feliciana, and Pointe Coupee.
The Commission’s functions are to promote the orderly
development of the ground-water resources in the Capital Area District
and to protect the quality of these resources.
